Sleep apnea is a potentially serious sleep disorder during which short breathing stops and severe snoring are observed. It needs to be properly diagnosed by an ENT (ear, nose & throat) specialist.
In mild cases of sleep apnea, intraoral orthodontic devices that move the mandible forward, may be used for breathing facilitation.
